With great sadness, GFG Alliance announces that Neil Barrell, Chief Operating Officer, tragically passed away last week in a loss which has been felt across the group.
Sanjeev Gupta, Chairman, said: “Neil’s death has come as a devastating shock. We would like to pay tribute to the immeasurable impact Neil has had on the business and on every colleague he’s come into contact with. His professionalism will be missed but it is his character and the friendship he gave to us all that will be his true legacy. Our thoughts go out to Neil’s family and we are doing everything we can to support them at this difficult time.”
Neil, 49, joined GFG Alliance in June 2019 and was appointed Chief Operating Officer at the beginning of 2020. He was previously a Senior Partner at Grant Thornton. Flags will be lowered to half mast at GFG Alliance sites this week as a mark of respect.
