Creating healthy, safe, sustainable workplaces.
At GFG, safety isn’t just a policy, it’s a way of life. Our safety programme ‘Be GFG Safe’ is built on our core values of Change, Family, and Sustainability, shaping a culture to ensure every member of the GFG family returns home safe and healthy, every single day.
Our global strategy provides a clear framework for operating responsibly, prioritizing the wellbeing of our employees, customers, and the communities we serve. Safety isn’t optional; it’s a fundamental commitment woven into everything we do.

The Be GFG Safe strategy is powered by four key pillars:

Preventing life-threatening incidents by understanding and managing our biggest risks.

Driving a safety-focused culture where everyone takes responsibility for looking out for themselves, and each other.

Encouraging fitness for work and life through targeted health and wellness programs and support.

Enabling performance by constantly reviewing our processes and tools, promoting organisational learning and best practice, and maintaining our high standard of work.

Employee safety remains our top priority every day.
Mitigating high risk incidents has been a key focus, with continued root cause analysis and sharing of findings through the safety network to enhance collective learnings.
For the last reporting period our key operations across the world achieved their best ever safety performances:
32%
Reduction in total recordable injuries.
29%
Reduction in days away due to injury.
12%
Reduction in the lost time injury frequency rate.
Case study:
InfraBuild was recognised by the World Steel Association for its commitment to Safety and Health Excellence.

The programme of “transforming safety culture and performance through human performance principles” followed a decision in 2019 to reshape the safety culture through a comprehensive road map named “The [We are InfraBuild] WRIB Safe Way” programme.
That programme is built on the pillars (1) enabling performance; (2) critical incident prevention; (3) interdependent safety culture; and (4) fit for work and fit for life.
Since its implementation there has been a 63% improvement in the total recordable injury frequency rate (TFIR) and 30% reduction in critical (life-threatening) incidents since 2021. 90% of the workforce has also participated in the behavioural safety program Safety Connect.
Additionally, one in every four employees across the company (including office staff) has intervened and reported at least one at-risk behaviour over the past 12 months.
