Commercial Analyst (Laverton, VIC, AU)


About the role

Reporting to the National Finance Manager and based at our Laverton site, the Commercial Analyst plays a pivotal role in shaping the success of InfraBuild’s Recycling business. We are seeking a critical decision support partner, connecting operations, finance and strategy to help leaders understand what is driving performance, what choices lie ahead and why those choices matter.

What you will be doing:

 

  • Analyse financial and operational performance to identify drivers, trends, and variances
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non‑financial leaders
  • Provide decision support through scenario modelling, commercial challenge, and clear recommendations
  • Identify financial levers and convert insights into practical operational actions with measurable outcomes
  • Co-own planning and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and driver‑based assumptions
  • Facilitate the month‑end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and prepare, deliver, and present the monthly reporting pack to key stakeholders

What you will bring:

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Commerce or similar
  • CA/CPA qualification essential
  • 5–7 years’ post‑graduate experience in commercial or financial analysis within the manufacturing or complex operational environments
  • Strong financial modelling and business case preparation skills
  • Ability to identify key drivers in complex business environments
  • Excellent Excel skills; exposure to SAP and Power BI desirable
  • Strong communication skills, sound judgement, tact and the ability to navigate sensitive conversations with senior leaders
