GFG Alliance in Australia

Being an international mining, primary metal production, metal recycling, engineering and distribution company, we are committed to broadening our horizons to better serve our global and domestic customers. To do so, we look for exceptional talent from a broad range of backgrounds.

In Australia the GFG Alliance, through its member businesses, owns a number of steel, metal, mining and energy assets.

Through its Liberty group, GFG Alliance owns the iconic Whyalla Steelworks and an integrated manufacturing, distribution and recycling business, based on the east coast of Australia, and known in the market as InfraBuild. It’s inclusive of well-known customer brands such as ARC, Cyclone, Waratah, and Midalia.

Through SIMEC, GFG Alliance owns iron ore mining assets in Whyalla and iron ore bulk handling facilities at the Whyalla port. SIMEC’s mining activities also includes coking-coal operations at Tahmoor. SIMEC Energy Australia is growing its capability as a supplier of renewable energy.

And as you would imagine our culture is a unique blend that you’ll find in any one of the businesses we operate from mining to steel and recycling.

Diversity

We believe that there is strength in diversity, and what sets us apart and makes us unique as individuals makes us stronger as a team. A diverse and inclusive environment that is dynamic, global and broad minded will underpin our drive to be a world class organisation.

We are focused on diversity within three specific areas, diversity of thinking, gender diversity and cultural diversity. As well as recruiting people from the total population, fostering diversity across its Australian operations means GFG Alliance will also be a workplace where all employees can flourish and grow.
