Charity

In February 2017, Sanjeev and his wife Nicola launched the Gupta Family Group Foundation (GFG Foundation)

The GFG Foundation was launched as an initiative to develop the skills needed to help young people reach their potential and strengthen industries – and communities – by boosting skills and employment prospects.

It focuses on the development of new programmes which aim to identify and close skills gaps, particularly in the engineering, metals and renewable energy sectors.

Making an impact

We will be working to make an impact through our work to achieve short and long-term outcomes, including:

  • skills development
  • improved educational attainment and employee retention
  • improved motivation, self-esteem and confidence, and
  • improved employability

Programmes inspired by HRH The Prince of Wales

The GFG Foundation is proud to develop its first national partnership in the UK with the highly acclaimed Industrial Cadets programme, inspired by HRH The Prince of Wales.

The programme is managed by the Engineering Development Trust (EDT) and delivered by GFG Alliance company staff and volunteers. It delivers activities with 9-21 year olds in schools and the workplace, aiming to provide high quality accredited STEM skills development (Science, technology, engineering and maths). The partnership between the GFG Foundation and EDT will help with the development of 4,000 young people over the three years of 2017-2020.

The need to provide people with opportunities to develop the right skills for fulfilling and productive lives is a constant challenge. Our family’s investment in regenerating metals and engineering industries around the world … has reminded us of the reality that many people of all ages lack the skills or opportunities to reach their potential and secure a long-term, sustainable future.
