Alexander has had a lengthy and distinguished career in Australian politics, serving as a Member of the Australian Parliament for over 20 years.
During this period, he served as Leader of the Opposition and leader of the Australian Liberal Party before becoming the Minister for Foreign Affairs, a position held from 1996 to 2007. From 2014 to 2018, he was Australian High Commissioner to the UK.
He has also served as Executive Director of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Adviser on Cyprus.
